
Some “bugs” are bothersome, but plenty aren’t pests at all. Do you know which ones live in your yard or neighborhood? Set off on a quest to find best kinds of bugs—and see who you meet!
What You Need
- cardboard or paper
- pencils or markers
- ruler or straight edge
- printer (optional)
- Bug Bingo card (optional)
What You Do

STEP 1:
Print this Bug Bingo Card if you have access to a printer. Or use our Bug Bingo Card as a guide to draw your own:
- Draw a large square on a piece of cardboard or paper.
- Use a ruler and a pencil or marker to divide the large square into 9 smaller squares.
- Draw one of each of these bugs on your card: ant, beetle, fly, firefly, butterfly, spider, mosquito, caterpillar, bee. (Or substitute any bugs that are common in your area.)

STEP 2:
Go outside and look for these bugs in your backyard or neighborhood.

When you find three bugs in a row, shout “BUG!” You can also keep playing and fill every space on your card.
