Ship of Doom

By Ranger Rick Staff; Art by The CharacterShop

Ranger Rick Raccoon, Scarlett Fox, and Boomer Badger are kayaking in Alaska’s Cook Inlet. A beluga whale named Bella told them she needed their help, and they’re here to meet her.

The belugas that live in Alaska’s Cook Inlet are among the most endangered in the world. No one is sure exactly why these whales are doing so badly, but many scientists think noise pollution from ships—especially oil exploration ships—may be part of the problem.
