What You Do
-
STEP 1:
Prepare the Apples
Wash and peel apples. Remove the core and cut the apples into small pieces about the size of an ice cube. -
STEP 2:
Cook Apples in Saucepan
Put the apple pieces and water in a medium saucepan. Cover and simmer apples over medium heat until tender (about 20 – 30 minutes). Stir about every 10 minutes. Remove from heat and let the apples cool for a little while. -
STEP 3:
Mash Apples
For extra-smooth applesauce, mash the apples with a potato masher. Stir in cinnamon and sugar to taste. (For every teaspoon of cinnamon, about 1 tablespoon of sugar is needed.) -
STEP 4:
Enjoy!
Enjoy your applesauce on top of apple pancakes, or by itself.
