White-Tailed Deer Tails

By
When a white-tailed deer is being chased, it shows the white underside of its tail at the predator chasing it. Predators focus on that white spot, because it is so easy to see. Then, when the deer makes a sudden, unexpected turn, it lowers its tail so that the white spot disappears. For just a moment, the predator is confused. But that moment may be all the deer needs to help it get away.
