
This Mother’s Day purse is the perfect size to hold a note telling Mom how much you love her.
What You Need
- button
- 2 sheets of construction paper
- glue stick
- hole punch
- markers or crayons
- Mother’s Day pocketbook patttern
- scissors
- tape
- 5′ of yarn
What You Do

Download and print the Mother’s Day pocketbook pattern. - Cut Out Pocketbook
Cut the two sides of the pocketbook out of construction paper. - Sew the Pocketbook Together
Align the two pieces of construction paper and use a hold punch to make the holes shown on the pattern. Starting at one edge, thread the yarn through the first hole. Lace the yarn through all the holes, as shown. After you thread the yarn through the last hole, cut the remaining yarn to the desired length for the shoulder strap. Tie the two ends together. - Add Butterflies and Flowers
Color and cut out the butterfly and flower patterns. Glue them onto the front of the pocketbook. - Add Button
Thread a 2″ piece of yarn through the button and then through the hole in the front of the pocketbook. Attach with tape. Cut a slit for the button in the flap.
