Wind Dance

wind dance

Dance around and pretend to be the gusty wind.

What You Need

  • Strips of crepe paper or old sheets

What You Do

  1. Observe the Wind
On a windy day, go outside with your child to watch the wind. Point out how the wind makes the trees sway back and forth. Ask your child:

    • What else is the wind moving back and forth?
    • What does the wind feel like?
    • How does it sound?
  2. Pretend to Be the Wind
Tape strips of crepe paper or old sheets to your child’s wrists. Encourage your child to dance around, swaying the strips back and forth, the way the wind would.
