Dino Teeth

By

Different dinosaur teeth had different jobs to do.

Allosaurus (al-uh-SAW-rus) teeth were big and sharp to cut through meat. But they weren’t good for chewing. That’s OK. Allosaurus didn’t chew. It swallowed chunks of meat whole!

Stegosaurus (steg-oh-SAW-rus) teeth were leaf-shaped. They had big ridges to cut up ferns and other plants.

Pachycephalosaurs, such as Pachycephalosaurus, were special. They had sharp teeth in front and leaf-shaped teeth in back. This might mean they ate plants AND small animals.
