Springtime brings colorful flowers and birds. There are lots of each in this issue of Ranger Rick Jr. Many beautiful things can be seen in nature and in the magazine. Help your child find them.
Starting on page 2, as you turn the pages together, ask your child to look for Polka-dot Fox. When your child finds her, write the page numbers here.
Page Number __________ __________ __________ __________ __________
On pages 12-13, help your child locate things in this list. Go ahead and show your child the five bumble bees. Then ask him or her to find the flower made from cheese.
After you point to the purple lily, ask your child find four things that are really silly–the insect flying in a paper airplane, the flower shaped as a glove, the sock hanging from a leaf, and the bee with a red-and-yellow hat.
Spend a few more minutes on pages 12-13 to count the number of hummingbirds. Answer: 6 hummingbirds.
What else can be counted on these two pages? Answer: 9 yellow flowers and 14 pink flowers.
If you make reading enjoyable for your child, he or she will develop a skill that will last a lifetime.
