Surprise your cat with these purr-fectly spooktacular catnip toys for Halloween!
GHOST TOY
What You Need:
- white and black felt
- fabric glue
- cotton balls
- dried catnip
- ribbon or string
- ghost pattern
What You Do:
- Download the ghost pattern template. Cut out the ghost shapes from white felt, and eyes and mouth from black felt.
- Create a pillow by gluing the ghost shapes together along the edges. Leave a one-inch opening for filling.
- Once the glue has dried, stuff a few cotton balls inside and sprinkle in some catnip. Place one end of the string or ribbon inside the ghost. Seal the opening with a few dabs of glue.
- Arrange the eyes and mouth on the ghost and glue in place.
PUMPKIN TOY
What You Need:
- orange, black, and brown felt
- fabric glue
- green pipe cleaner
- cotton balls
- dried catnip
- pencil
- nail
- pumpkin pattern
What You Do:
- Download the pumpkin pattern template. Cut out pumpkin shapes from orange felt, eyes, nose and mouth from black felt, and stem from brown felt.
- Create a pillow by gluing the two pumpkins together along the edges. Leave a one-inch opening for filling.
- Once the glue has dried, stuff a few cotton balls inside and sprinkle in some catnip. Seal the opening with a few dabs of glue.
- Arrange the stem, eyes, nose, and mouth on the pumpkin. Glue in place.
- Wrap the pipe cleaner around a pencil to create a coil. Use a nail to poke a hole in the top of the pumpkin. (Ask an adult for help.) Push one end of the pipe cleaner coil through the hole, then twist to secure in place.
