Painted Panda Rock

Panda rock

Use stones and black and white paint to make a rockin’ panda.

What You Need

  • White modeling clay
  • Craft glue
  • Black marker (optional)
  • Black and white paint
  • Scrap of green paper
  • Scissors
  • 4 smooth stones (2 large, 2 small)
  • Toothpick

What You Do

  1. Paint Stones
Paint one of the large stones white. Paint the two small stones and the other large stone black.
  2. Paint Panda Face
Paint or use a black marker to draw a panda face on the white stone. Paint a tiny dot of white on each eye and a patch of white on the large black stone.
  3. Assemble Panda
After the paint dries, set the stone with the panda face on top of the large black-stone body and “glue” in place with clay.
  4. Make Ears and Bamboo
For ears, stick the small black stones to the panda’s head with clay. For bamboo, cut out several leaf shapes from green paper and glue to the toothpick. Press the toothpick onto the panda’s body with clay.
