By Michele Reyzer
These chocolate-striped cookies will sweeten your day!
What You Need
- 4 tablespoons soft butter
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- pinch of salt
- ⅔ cup chocolate chips
What You Do
- Preheat oven to 375°.
- Combine the butter, sugar, and egg in a large bowl. Beat with an electric mixer until creamy.
- Add the flour, baking powder, and salt. Mix with a large spoon until a smooth dough forms.
- Scoop out a tablespoon of dough and drop it onto a greased cookie sheet (or one covered with parchment paper). Continue scooping and dropping lumps of dough a few inches apart on the cookie sheet.
- Coat your fingers with flour to form each lump into a tail-shaped cookie.
- Bake for about 10 minutes, or until the cookies have turned a light golden brown.
- Once the cookies have cooled completely, ask an adult to help you melt the chocolate chips.
- Dip the edge of a small spoon into the melted chocolate, then drizzle it across each cookie to make the stripes.
- Put the cookies in a cool place until the chocolate stripes have hardened.
