What You Do

  1. Preheat oven to 375°.
  2. Combine the butter, sugar, and egg in a large bowl. Beat with an electric mixer until creamy.
  3. Add the flour, baking powder, and salt. Mix with a large spoon until a smooth dough forms.
  4. Scoop out a tablespoon of dough and drop it onto a greased cookie sheet (or one covered with parchment paper). Continue scooping and dropping lumps of dough a few inches apart on the cookie sheet.
  5. Coat your fingers with flour to form each lump into a tail-shaped cookie.
  6. Bake for about 10 minutes, or until the cookies have turned a light golden brown.
  7. Once the cookies have cooled completely, ask an adult to help you melt the chocolate chips.
  8. Dip the edge of a small spoon into the melted chocolate, then drizzle it across each cookie to make the stripes.
  9. Put the cookies in a cool place until the chocolate stripes have hardened.
