Autumn Applesauce

This classic recipe for homemade applesauce will make your kitchen smell like fall!

What You Need

  • 5-6 apples
  • cinnamon
  • sugar
  • 3/4 cup water

What You Do

  1. Prepare the Apples
    Wash and peel apples. Remove the core and cut the apples into small pieces about the size of an ice sauce 2
  2. Cook Apples in Saucepan
    Put the apple pieces and water in medium saucepan. Cover and simmer apples over medium heat until tender (about 20 – 30 minutes). Stir about every 10 minutes. Remove from heat and let the apples cool for a little sauce 3
  3. Mash Apples
    For extra-smooth applesauce, let your child mash the apples with a potato masher. Then he/she can help stir in cinnamon and sugar to taste. (For every teaspoon of cinnamon about 1 tablespoon of sugar is needed.)
