A little water makes these coffee filter flowers burst with color!
What You Need (to make one flower)
- 3 coffee filters
- washable markers
- green pipe cleaner
- spray bottle filled with water
- newspaper
- vase
- perfume (optional)
What You Do
-
Color the Coffee Filters
Place the coffee filters on several sheets of newspaper. Scribble on one side of each of the filters with markers. The more ink that goes on the filter, the more colorful the flower will be.
(TIP: Choose colors that blend well together.) -
Spray Coffee Filters with Water
Generously spray the colored coffee filters with water. The colors will run together to create a beautiful watercolor blossom.
-
Stack the Filters
Once the coffee filters have dried, place them on top of each other. While keeping the filters stacked, pinch them together in the center of the circle to form a crinkly blossom, as shown.
-
Form the Flower
For the stem, wrap one end of a pipe cleaner around the pinched area. Gently separate and pull apart the coffee filter layers. Place the flower in a vase.
-
Repeat Steps 1-4
Repeat these steps to create a bouquet that will last forever. If you want, you can also lightly spray some perfume on the flowers.
